Cerebral palsy is a neuromuscular disorder and it formed for 2 words “cerebral” and “ palsy”
Cerebral – related to brain and palsy- related to muscle control .
Cerebral is related to two hemispheres of the brain and Palsy is a problem which affects the muscle of the body movement . These problems arise due to faulty development of motor neurons in the brain and disrupts the ability to control the body posture and movement.
DN Mechanism of action
When a dry needle is inserted into a tight muscle the needle can trigger a twitch response which may help to relax the muscle and reduce spasticity.
Rom exercise – it helps to maintain joint mobility and prevent contracture.
Stretchings – it helps improve range of motion.
Strengthening exercises – it helps in increasing muscle tone and muscle strength.
Gait training – it helps improve walking
Aquatic therapy – it can help improve mobility.
CIMT ( constraint induced movement therapy ) – an avoidance based intervention that can help improve outcomes.
