Mixed Sensorymotor Neuropathy

Mixed sensory-motor neuropathy is a type of peripheral neuropathy that affects both the sensory and motor nerves. This condition causes damage to the nerves that control sensation and movement in the arms, legs, hands, and feet.

Symptoms of mixed sensory-motor neuropathy may include:

• Numbness, tingling, or burning pain in the hands or feet
• Weakness or loss of muscle tone in the affected areas
• Difficulty with fine motor skills, such as writing or buttoning clothes
• Loss of balance or coordination
• Muscle cramps or twitching
• Sensitivity to touch or temperature changes
• Changes in blood pressure or heart rate

Mixed sensory-motor neuropathy can be caused by a variety of factors, including:

• Diabetes or other metabolic disorders
• Autoimmune diseases such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis
• Infections such as HIV, hepatitis, or Lyme disease
• Exposure to toxins such as chemotherapy drugs or heavy metals
• Trauma or injury to the nerves

Treatment for mixed sensory-motor neuropathy may include:
