Back and Neck Pain while Breast-Feeding.

Breast feeding is one of the best thing a women can do for her child but it
can affect the back and neck of the women .
Active women sit for hours to feed the baby in same position which
results in stiff neck and stiff back .
Low back is the result from hunching to find perfect nursing position .
- Prolong sitting in same posture and holding baby weight in arm
alter shoulder and neck muscles which leads to neck stiffness .
- Temporary changes in pelvic and spinal posture during pregnancy
also main causes of week back .
- Increased hormonal level (progesterone) lead to loosening of joint
so when women sit to feed the baby spinal curvature increases
more than pre-pregnancy.
- Weak core muscle and pelvic floor also main cause of low back pain
-Weak abdominal muscle during pregnancy and hampered during
labour also lead to stiff back .

MINOR CHANGE

- Use pillow :-
Under the legs knee and back to support the back legs .
Place pillow below baby to hold baby close .
- Maintain neck posture correct
- Avoid looking downward
- Use cellphone in correct posture
- Try different feeding posture or try to change posture in short time
of period to move body and relax (Side lying).

STRETCHING

Maintain proper routine for stretching whole body upper body neck arms
and lower back .

1.EAGLE ARM
Bring your right arm under the left and bend the elbows bringing the
palms of your hands together. Lift your elbows up as you push your palms
away from you. Take a deep breath into your upper back as you exhale
allow this whole part of your body to let go. Take a few breaths here then
switch to having your left arm under your right and repeat.
2.TOWEL STRETCH
Lie on a rolled towel down between the shoulder blades on the floor for
2-3 minutes.
3. STANDING FORWARD FILD WITH SHOULDER OPNER
Lock your hand behind your back and bend forward letting your hands fall
on the top of your head and inhale and exhale slowly.
4. CAT AND CAMEL

6. NECK AND SHOULDER ROLLS
